The Story of Barichu Coffee Cooperative
In the central region of Kenya, members of the Barichu Cooperative are using coffee to reimagine their future. Guided by a mission of producing remarkable coffees and improving livelihoods, the organization supports over 6,000 small-scale farmers. This community of small-scale growers comes together to process freshly picked coffee cherries, combining the harvest of individual members. Committed to a shared, forward-looking vision, this co-op plants the seeds for future success. Together they invest in education, create nurseries for coffee seedlings and grow agricultural essentials like macadamia and arrowroot. With trust in one another and a desire to strengthen their community, the Barichu co-op creates remarkable coffees like this one.
